Flowers For Lola Personalised Velvet Ring Box
There’s nothing that screams luxury more than velvet when it comes to ring boxes, and the Flowers For Lola Personalised Velvet Ring Box is an absolute dream. This vintage-inspired box looks like the ultimate luxurious heirloom and is as thoughtful as it’s unique. Handcrafted to perfection, this ring box offered us the choice of one or two slots. What’s more, it also gave us the option of adding a monogram – on the top lid or on the inside of the lid, offering a delicate finishing touch. Plus, the monogram itself can be done in either silver or gold! That’s what makes it a great Etsy custom ring box.

Damla Rose Mother of Pearl Floral Ring Box
There’s something very delicate and sweet about this oval-shaped vintage Damla Rose Mother of Pearl Floral Ring Box. For one, we fell in love with the floral design on the outside case, which is simple and yet just detailed enough to be called whimsical. What’s more, the box has a worn interior, but not in a bad way. Rather, it has enough wear for us to be able to say that it’s a vintage box with a lot of character from its age. This is unsurprising since this one-of-a-kind ring box is over two decades old!
But what we loved most was the idea of using the top as a stand to have our wedding rings photographed, with the white-and-black contrast making for a stunning backdrop.

Once Upon A Time GR Vintage Brown Jewelry Box
Our ardent search for unique keepsake wedding ring boxes ended with the Once Upon A Time GR Vintage Brown Jewelry Box. What’s even cooler is that this is a genuine vintage keepsake dating back to the Roaring 1920s! There’s something hauntingly beautiful about this box’s worn and aged aesthetic, which has a stunning cream and bright red velvet interior. The hinged lid aside, we loved the stunning brown turtleshell effect, complete with the beautiful gold edging. Moreover, the wide shape was perfect for styling both our engagement and Etsy wedding rings into the box.
- It holds well when it’s closed.
- It made for a great option for wedding detail photos.
- For such an old vintage box, it’s in good condition.

Blend Vintage PDX Handmade Wooden Jewelry Box
Not all ring boxes have to be traditional ring boxes with slots, right? Sometimes, a simple box where we could just place our rings is exactly what we want. That’s why we chose the Blend Vintage PDX Handmade Wooden Jewelry Box. This beautifully handcrafted trinket/jewelry box is made from high-quality wood. What’s more, it has magnificent mountain scenery on the top, and that too by using different colored woods. So, it actually brings about the depth in the picture, and it’s not just any other engraving. If that wasn’t enough, the box has a swivel top that glides perfectly, so it’s very simple for us to drop our ring in. This Etsy wooden ring box isn’t just a great ring box; it also works as a stash or trinket box.

Villa Object Onyx Jewelry Box
Onyx has always been revered since times immemorial, so why shouldn’t it be a part of everyday life too? Behold the Villa Object Onyx Jewelry Box, a drop-dead gorgeous pale-yellow jewelry box handcrafted from onyx stone. What we loved most about the well-designed box is that the finish is excellent with minor scratches, and the wear is consistent with its age. That is quite rare for an onyx box that’s more than 30 years old! The top of the ring box and the inside have lovely muted coloring in shades of butterscotch, white, and off-white. Since our engagement and wedding rings are dark in color and with darker stones, this ring box was perfect to hold them.

Stratford Interiors Bean-Shaped Blue Wedgwood Ring Box
Sitting at the top of the list is the lovely Stratford Interiors Bean-Shaped Blue Wedgwood Ring Box that was love at first sight for us. This vintage, pre-loved box is made from the oh-so-amazing Wedgwood Jasperware. We love the perfectly iconic chalky French blue color, which perfectly complements the raised white reliefs, standard across Jasperware. In fact, the different neoclassical scenes give the design a beautiful cameo effect. Aside from the tiniest, barely noticeable little flea bite on the base’s edge, the box is otherwise in excellent vintage condition. It’s no wonder that this vintage ring box from the 1970s is one of our most prized possessions.

How To Choose The Best Etsy Vintage Ring Boxes?
Vintage ring boxes came in many varied and different colors, limited by the dyes available during that time period. So, that’s how early boxes were found in colors like darker red, black, and brown for the leathers and place blue, grey, and cream for the fabrics. Another way is to choose wedding ring boxes that go with one’s wedding colors. Doing so made photos of our wedding ring box much more cohesive with the rest of our wedding photo gallery.
Another important point to take into consideration is the color and make of the actual Etsy ring itself. For instance, darker wedding ring box colors allow bright stones like diamond solitaires to stand out. Lighter wedding ring box colors, on the other hand, are perfect for rings with darker gemstones.
Shapes are another factor amidst wedding ring boxes that are defined by the era. What’s more, they’re available in a wide variety of shapes – envelope, book, lozenge, heart, shield, horseshoe, oval, and round/tub.
Traditionally, the ring box’s basic structure was made of wood, and it was lined with natural fabrics like cotton, velvet, or silk. For materials, velvet makes for a luxurious look, while wood works well for a rustic-chic vintage vibe.
How big should a ring box be?
While some prefer small and slim single-ring boxes, the general rule is to choose boxes that can easily fit in your pocket.
What color should a ring box be?
When it comes to selecting the color of the box, choosing a classic or neutral color ensures a timeless look. Alternatively, you could try to match it to your own wedding colors.
Is the ring box important?
Yes, it could not only serve as a family heirloom someday, but also, the box is a safe place to store and display the ring.
