So, here is a list of the 13 best Canon cameras you can get today to start taking the best shots.

Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless Camera

13

Kicking off the list with this little guy, the Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless Camera. Mirrorless cameras have become so popular these days although not all photographers are used to them. We wanted to give it a try, so, we started with a decent cam at an affordable price, namely EOS R50. The quality this cam is capable of producing is impressive. We are thinking more of mirrorless cams after trying this one.

“This cam is the best option for those looking for a shoot-and-go camera at a decent price. We were surprised by the capabilities we got from the cam, especially the uncropped 4K videos.”

Dizzzi

The camera appears to be a simple one. It’s a great option for on-the-go shooting. It’s also great for different types of photography although we struggled in low-light conditions. The camera is available as a body only or a body with other accessories. We got the cam with two different lenses for a wider range of shooting options.

Pros

  • The camera is quite affordable
  • It comes with a 4K video feature
  • It’s compact and lightweight

Cons

  • It isn’t compatible with Canon’s webcam feature

Canon EOS R8 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

12

Another option with more features and higher qualities is the Canon EOS R8 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera. Needless to say, higher quality means a higher price. But with the intelligent autofocus that sets the focus in a fraction of a second, we were willing to pay for such a camera. Further, the 4K and HDR features made it a moderate camera with professional results.

Mirrorless Canon cameras in Best Buy are still finding their way, so, you might not find too many options. If it’s all about the electronic viewfinder and full frame sensor without the crop factor in 4K mode, then you’ll be pleased with this cam like how we were after shooting with the R8 for one full day.

Pros

  • It has a dual-pixel sensor with an AF system covering the full frame
  • The shutter is improved
  • It’s light and compact

Cons

  • It has one card slot only

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III

11

Best quality. The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is one of the priciest Best Buy Canon cameras ever. Thus, before we start detailing the features and telling you our opinion, bear in mind that this cam has a lot of magnificent features you’ll only need for high-quality photography and videography. We were expecting too much from this cam, and what we got was far beyond what we were expecting.

With its 191-point AF System that is enhanced by AI, the camera takes the autofocus feature to a whole new level. The uncropped 4K video produced by the full-frame sensor is a feature we were waiting for from Canon cameras. We used this camera a few times and the results have been great so far, we still have to figure out more about the available options. By the way, it’s a great camera for sports photography, you can also check more cameras for sports here.

Pros

  • The ISO range and fps range are the highest
  • The AF system is enhanced
  • The sensor has a new low-pass filter

Cons

  • The LCD screen doesn’t rotate

Canon EOS M200 Compact Mirrorless Camera

10

If you’re willing to start a photography career and don’t want to spend a lot at the beginning, the Canon EOS M200 Compact Mirrorless Camera is highly recommended. This camera is so lightweight and compact that we can pack it wherever we go. Actually, we have an EOS M200 camera for personal use. It’s capable of taking the best photos and vertical 4K videos for posting online on different platforms.

Another feature we believe is essential for vlogging cameras is the ease of use. The camera’s touchscreen is crisp and very responsive. It can be tilted to take selfies and 180-degree videos. We know that the cam isn’t the full option that professionals seek. However, considering the price, this one is a good starter. It’s also available with a starter kit, all at a very good price.

Pros

  • The price is very suitable for the cam
  • It’s easy to use
  • The cam is so compact and lightweight

Cons

  • There is no jack for an external mic

Canon EOS 6D Mark II Digital SLR Camera

9

The Canon EOS 6D Mark II Digital SLR Camera has a decent sensor with 26.2mp that allows for full-frame shoots like other professional cameras. Actually, we didn’t know where to categorize this camera, among the professional DSLRs or the beginner ones. The cam is packed with features that go beyond basic cams but it’s still an affordable camera.

Upgrading from an amateur photographer to the next level, we would choose this cam. We would also check the different offers such as buying the cam with extra external storage, extra lenses, and other accessories. One thing we wished to have is the 4K feature. The quality isn’t very poor as full HD cams will still produce high-quality videos, unlike the surveillance cameras for homes, however, at this price, we expected the 4K feature.

Pros

  • The camera has a very good sensor
  • The touch screen is intuitive
  • The full frame feature is excellent

Cons

  • 4K videos aren’t supported

Canon EOS Rebel T8i

8

The Canon EOS Rebel T8i is a great option for beginners. We would rank it as a top camera for those starting their photography hobby or career and want to get professional by the time. This camera produces high-quality results and at the same time, it’s easy to use. We found it very user-friendly and easy to handle.

The battery isn’t the lightest or the smallest, yet, it’s still a light DSLR camera for ease of use. We also appreciate the fact that the battery is placed apart from where the tripod resides. The same thing applies to the memory card, so, replacing these items while the camera is on set is easy. Another feature that looks great is the flip screen. You can see the photos and videos in either vertical or horizontal orientation. Watch this video from CanonUSA summarizing the features of this camera.

Pros

  • It’s reasonably priced considering the features
  • The camera is very user-friendly
  • It has a high fps

Canon EOS 90D DSLR Camera

7

The Canon EOS 90D DSLR Camera is another outstanding camera with impressive features at an average price considering it features. The sensor has been upgraded to 32.5MP. Previous Canon buyers know that this resolution was lower in previous editions. Further, the frame rate is noticeably higher in speed. With 10fps, you can take the slowest motion videos professionally.

Speaking of the videos, this camera has a 4K video feature which appeals to videographers a lot. Even if you aren’t a professional you’ll love how the videos look with this camera. To recommend this camera, we had to try it first for photos and videos. The photos looked so real thanks to the optical viewfinder. On the other side, we captured several videos using the 4K UHD and Full HD features and both looked so real.

Pros

  • The sensor comes with a very high-resolution
  • The frame rate is high
  • It can be used as a webcam

Cons

  • The buffer speed and capacity aren’t the best

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Full Frame DSLR Camera

6

Now, this is a professional camera, so, please expect a higher price for this one. The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Full Frame DSLR Camera comes at double and maybe triple what you can pay for another Canon DSLR but the features are quadrupled as well! To know all the features of this camera, read this full review from Petapixel.

As for the features, apart from the 4K videos, the full-frame CMOS sensor, and higher fps, this camera has a very quiet shutter we didn’t find in most other cameras. Also, the AF points are 61 and this system is better with a wider tracking area. One thing we discovered after using the camera several times is that we can use more than one focus system at the same time (we believe they’re three AF systems) and set up them separately.

Pros

  • It has 61 AF points with a wider tracking area
  • The fps is 7
  • It’s suitable for low-light conditions

Cons

  • The battery drains quickly when using certain features

Canon PowerShot V10 Vlog Camera

5

Best for low budgets. We know that not all of you are looking for high-end cameras and professional features. Sometimes all you need is a decent-quality cam with the minimum features that enable you to take great shots using your own abilities. That’s what the Canon PowerShot V10 Vlog Camera offers.

Despite the price, this camera amazed us with the 4K video feature, low-light capabilities, and face-tracking feature. It might be the cheapest Canon camera in Best Buy with such features. We know that this camera isn’t for professional photography, so, we didn’t expect the best quality. Yet, the 4K videos we shot were of acceptable quality, not like those videos you get from cheap cameras for home.

Pros

  • The price is affordable
  • The qualities and features are suitable for the price range
  • It’s very small in size

Cons

  • It produces average quality

Canon EOS Rebel SL3 Digital SLR Camera

4

DSLR cameras are always accused of being heavy and less practical than mirrorless cameras. Yet, this wasn’t the case with the Canon EOS Rebel SL3 Digital SLR Camera. We tried packing this camera on several occasions and we didn’t feel it was heavyweight at all. Even though it’s still bulkier than mirrorless cameras, it’s an excellent option for those who prefer DSLRs.

We loved the autofocus feature of this camera a lot. It helped us take photos in seconds without having to spend a hell looking through the optical viewfinder to find a good point. Further, the 4K videos were great and just as expected. One of the reviews we watched before trying the cam and found it was true is this one from DPReview TV. We encourage you to watch it, too.

Pros

  • It’s one of the lightest weight DSLRs
  • The live shooting feature is enhanced
  • It’s a user-friendly camera

Cons

  • More AF points would have been better

Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III

3

Best for vloggers. Canon PowerShot G7X Mark III is an upgrade to the previous G7X Mark II model. This model was essentially made for vlogging and YouTube videos, and this one takes it to a new level. The new features include uncropped 4K videos. It’s now normal to see vlogs with very high-quality videos, so, we will never look anywhere else if it’s all about online video content.

Moreover, we could attach an external mic to this cam using the 3.5mm port, this feature was missed in the previous model. The new features were added to make the cam far more professional. We also loved that the camera is available in black and silver options. Most other cameras are available in black color only.

Pros

  • It produces high-quality videos
  • It’s so small and suitable for travelers
  • The lens is widely zoomable

Cons

  • It heats quickly in the 4K mode

Canon EOS RP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

2

Canon EOS RP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera is one of the most successful models when it comes to mirrorless cameras. It’s compact and lightweight like most other mirrorless options. Plus, it’s reasonably priced enabling amateurs to try the brilliant EVF of mirrorless cameras.

We got the camera with its original zoomable lens that gives a wide range of zooming in and out (from 24 to 105mm). Yet, it got better when we tried the camera with other lenses. The cam accepts EF lenses thanks to the EF adaptor that comes with the cam. Plus, it already has its RF lens system, so, we could take differently-oriented clear photos and videos with this small camera.

Pros

  • The camera uses RF and EF lens systems
  • The video resolution is very high
  • The price range is acceptable

Cons

  • It lacks the dual pixel AF in 4K mode

Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera

1

Best for still photos. Nothing beats a moderate camera with most of the features we need at an acceptable price. Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera satisfied most of our needs. We didn’t think we could get more at this price. Also, considering it’s a DSLR cam with an optical viewfinder, we would go for this camera if we need to get started.

The camera has a 9-point AF system that works with AI. The CMOS sensor has a resolution of 24.1mp. We had the chance to try the image stabilization feature as well. Further, we tried different lenses with the camera to make sure everything worked the best. It was a very good camera in terms of still photos whereas other cameras beat this one in videos. Yet, we could still get good-quality videos with this camera.

Pros

  • The quality is suitable for the price
  • It’s a good option for product photography
  • The resolution and shutter speed are excellent

Cons

  • The video quality isn’t the best

Our Verdict!

Now that you have read all the reviews of the 13 cameras, we listed below the four distinguished cameras in terms of certain features. So, if you’re looking for a low-budget camera, something for travel or vlogging, don’t confuse yourself, here is the list.

How To Choose The Best Canon Cameras at Best Buy?

Canon cameras are all high quality and perfect. However, you can’t just pick any camera because you think it looks good and buy it. When it comes to choosing a camera, here are some features to consider.

Lens

Lenses are interchangeable, so, if the camera you want to buy already has a lens, it doesn’t mean you can’t change it. However, certain cameras mount certain lenses. You need to check the range of lenses the camera can mount. The wider the range is, the more you can zoom in and out with your camera.

Additional accessories

Some cameras come with additional accessories within the package although you can buy them individually. For example, most cameras come with a basic zoomable lens, a memory card, and a battery. Check all the items that come within the package because if these basic things aren’t part of the package, you’ll probably need to buy them. Other less necessary items include a mount or a tripod, extra batteries and chargers, a lens cap, and cleaning clothes

Budget

The budget is very critical when buying any electronics. Canon cameras can come at very high prices, as much as $6000, and at lower prices reaching around $500. Needless to say the more you pay, the more features you get. However, you don’t have to pay that much to get a good-quality camera unless you’re a professional and the highest-quality cameras are a must for your job. Otherwise, pick something suitable for your budget, and don’t worry, you’ll get the best shots as long as you know how to do it.

Which is better mirrorless or DSLR cameras?

It depends on the way you want to take photos. Mirrorless cameras depend on an electronic viewfinder which means they take time to capture photos in low light conditions and they aren’t the best for shooting speedy objects. On the other side, DSLRs have optical viewfinders and they usually have an autofocus feature but they’re larger in size.

What is the best Canon Camera for beginners?

The most important thing for beginners is to choose a camera with a zoomable lens, autofocus, and lightweight body. Thus, you can master photography techniques first before switching to more professional features.

What are the main camera accessories I need to buy?

Nothing is actually a must-have unless you need it. However, check some of the common accessories most photographers have and see if you really need them or not such as a tripod, extra lenses for different types of shots, remote shutter release, and reflectors if you usually take photos and videos in light.
