When it came to finding the best options, we couldn’t do better than sheets at Target. You might have heard of their famed in-house brand Threshold, but the red-embossed retailer had a slew of other equally good brands on offer.

We begin with the Bare Home Double Brushed Sheet Set, which is ideal for adjustable and split beds. What drew us to this bedsheet set was the stunning jewel tone options we had, besides the classic creams and whites. As you can see below, we chose the emerald shade, and it’s transformed our bedroom! It was available in multiple sizes ranging from Twin/Twin XL to a King and even a California King one. Since it was double-brushed for softness, it was perfect for cozying up at night. If that wasn’t enough, the sheet set was also fade-resistant and wrinkle-resistant, which meant that it would likely last us a few good years. Since it’s also OEKO-TEX-certified, it’s a great option for people with allergies and/or sensitive skin.

One of the cutest decor items we found while looking for bedsheets is the Opalhouse x Jungalow Printed Cotton Percale Sheet Set. There were a lot of other reasons why we loved this bedsheet set, starting with the fact that it came in Twin/Twin XL, Full, Queen, and King sizes. The set included not just one fitted sheet, but also two pillowcases and a flat sheet (the Twin/Twin XL had 1 pillowcase). What’s more, the 100% percale cotton weave was breathable and extremely soft, while the full-perimeter elastic ensured that the sheet stayed firm and fitted on our mattress, no matter how much we moved. The OEKO-TEX-certified design, the variety of colors and patterns, and the fact that they stayed the same after washing are why we loved this bedsheet set.

Are you a fan of organic sheets? Go for the Delilah Home 100% Organic Hemp BedSheet, which is made from 100% GOTS-certified organic hemp. So, even though they cost a whopping USD 250 for a queen duvet set, these breathable and soft sheets are well worth the price, and there are many reasons for the same. For one, there were no flaws in the fabric, snags, loose threads, or color fading after the sheets were washed. The slightly nubby texture felt soft and lovely against our skin, with the sheets becoming softer after a wash. Since they were fitted sheets, they didn’t pop even after we’d tossed and turned all night, hugging our mattress tightly. The best bit? These sheets were highly breathable too.

Imagine finding a bedsheet set that combines some of the best qualities of different kinds of sheets; that’s the Tuft & Needle Hemp Sheet Set for you. Despite looking like linen thanks to their nubby look, these sheets were made from 100% hemp and were silky and soft. Perfect right out of the package, these sheets were consistent in color throughout and we could see the visible weave pattern that’s usually seen in hemp and linen sheets. Moreover, the fabric was cool to the touch and was breathable and airy despite having a heavier weight. The fabric remained soft even out of the wash and, despite being expensive, we were impressed by the breathability and quality.

Great Bay Home 100% Cotton Flannel Sheet Set

The Great Bay Home 100% Cotton Flannel Sheet Set had a nice, soft texture that didn’t change even after extended use or multiple washes. They were surprisingly lightweight for flannel sheets, remaining cozy and ultra-soft even after washes and extended use. Since flannel sheets are famed for their warmth, these Great Bay sheets were no exception, making them perfect for cold nights. At the same time, since they were made from 100% brushed cotton, they were also breathable and didn’t weigh us down either. The best bit? They came in multiple sizes from Twin to California King, a wide range of color patterns, and even a bonus OEKO-TEX certification. 

Casaluna Washed Supima Percale Solid Sheet Set

The Casaluna Washed Supima Percale Solid Sheet Set is one of the crispest sheets we’ve ever seen. These lightweight and soft sheets were almost stiff-feeling and yet were very luxurious to the touch. What’s more, these beautifully made sheets were durable and didn’t develop any fiber threads even after use and wash. Besides being lightweight, they were also extremely breathable, making them perfect for hot summer nights. They were available in multiple sizes from Twin/Twin XL to California King and Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX certified. Finally, the fitted sheet had an 18-inch deep pocket and elastic all around, and the set included a fitted sheet, a flat one, and two pillowcases.

Best eco-friendly. The Threshold Cool TENCEL Lyocell Sheet Set was made from satin lyocell, a material more environmentally friendly and of higher quality than eucalyptus. What’s more, these sheets had “Made in Green” certifications from both the Forest Stewardship Council and OEKO-TEX, making them perfect for eco-conscious buyers. Aside from this, we were impressed by the lovely hand feel of the soft and silky sheets made from cooling fabrics, and we didn’t experience any clamminess or overheating. Thanks to the deep, 18-inch pocket, the sheets not only slipped onto our mattress with ease but also remained firmly in place even after we tossed and turned. Rounding things up was the fact that the bedsheets didn’t become overtly wrinkly even after washing. 

Bokser Home 100% French Linen Sheet Set

Best linen. We’ve always been fans of linen sheets, which is why we chose the Bokser Home 100% French Linen Sheet Set. Crafted from 100% French linen, these sheets were available in a gorgeous range of hues, including the deep Baltic blue you see below. In fact, they even had colors like Clay, Honey, Moss, and Pebble Leather. Like all linen sheets, these bedsheets had a rougher, heavier, and thicker feel that was more raised than cotton sheets. It was a breeze getting these on our mattress, thanks in part to the strong elastic as well as side, bottom, and top tags, which helped them stay in place. Despite being made from linen, they felt soft to snuggle up in. The best bit? There were no imperfections like color changes or pilling after washing.

California Design Den 5-Star Luxury Sheet Set

No brand does it as well as California Design Den when it comes to quality. Their California Design Den 5-Star Luxury Sheet Set is no exception and feels like luxury hotel sheets. We loved the substantial feel of the 100% cotton sateen weave which, while being on the heavier side, had a higher, above-average thread count of 600, which is above average. Aside from the texture feeling silky and soft, they weren’t see-through even after multiple washes, and got softer, if that was even possible. While the sheets were fitted, taller mattresses might struggle a bit to have them put on, but they remained firmly in place even after tossing and turning. Finally, the fabric was breathable too.

Cariloha Retreat 4-Piece Sateen Sheet Set

Best for hot sleepers. If you’re a hot sleeper, the Cariloha Retreat 4-Piece Sateen Sheet Set is a good investment. Designed from 100% bamboo lyocell with a sateen finish, these lovely sheets proved to be comfy, soft, and very cooling. As hot sleepers, we loved the silky feeling and cool fabric that prevented the sheets or us from overheating on warmer nights. What’s more, they fit very well, with the elastic band ensuring that the sheets stay in place securely and tightly. They even retained their luxurious feel and look after being washed and didn’t wrinkle or develop any visible wear and tear. While the price is significantly higher, the set did include a top sheet as well and came in multiple sizes.

Threshold Printed Performance 400 Thread Count Sheet Set

Best overall. Sitting at the top of the list is the Threshold Printed Performance 400 Thread Count Sheet Set, which costs us just USD 60 for a king-size set. We were blown away by the soft, sturdy-feeling texture of the sheets, which made us want to snuggle in them at night. Designed from 100% cotton, these medium-weight sheets were breathable and yet kept us warm without making us feel overheated or smothered. Thanks to the deep 18-inch pocket, the fit was excellent, with the double elastic rows helping keep it firmly in place. Moreover, the tons of extra fabric along the sides allowed us to tuck it in our bed, which had a thick mattress, making it look smooth and snug. Rounding things up was the fact that there was no wear and tear, pilling, or shrinkage.

When we’re referring to the pocket size, we’re talking about the depth of a fitted sheet. It’s very important to check a bedsheet’s dimensions, especially if you possess a very tall mattress. For instance, if you’re looking for a bedsheet with a “deeper pocket” for your mattress, it usually means one that’s around 18 inches deep. What’s great about deep pocket sheets is that they can always be tucked into a mattress of any size.
