Deep Sentinel is a unique home security system. Usually, most third-party home security systems document crime, but do little else. Usually, intruders trigger motion sensors when they breach your home’s boundaries, and the cameras begin documenting what’s happening. Even if the system sets off local sirens or sends you notifications, chances are that everything happens at such blinding speed that there’s nothing anyone can do, and the entire incident is done and dusted with before one can even make head or tail of it. Additionally, home security systems are extra-careful to avoid setting off false alarms and wasting police resources. So, by the time the security professionals get in touch with you to realize what’s going on and call the police, chances are that the deed is already over.

A Comprehensive Working Setup
Deep Sentinel’s kit is a well-rounded one. First, there are the essential three wireless, battery-powered cameras, which draw a sort of virtual boundary around our property. Secondly, there’s the team of Deep Sentinel “guards,” who can access the live feed of every camera installed on the system in our house, and that too remotely. So, if and when they see any movement from objects on our property or around it, whether they’re animate or inanimate, the AI algorithms accurately determine which activities are dubious and which ones aren’t.
Going ahead, if the activities seem fishy, the camera will activate a ring of strobing red lights and start recording a video, complete with a backup copy saved to the hub. At the same time, the camera also sends a live feed to the professional Deep Sentinel agent who monitors all activity around our property. Then, he decides to take or not take action, depending on what he sees on the camera. For instance, if the camera detects children in the front yard who’ve come to take a ball accidentally thrown onto our property, it obviously doesn’t warrant any action. However, if someone is lurking around the property and trying to reach our packages on the porch, then the agent will decide to intervene, either scaring off the intruders via the two-way speaker or activating a loud 104-decibel siren to scare them off.
Usually, these two options prevent any potential crimes. However, if intrusions turn into actual crimes, agents even alert local police authorities and give them all details of the crime in progress, including the address and the description of the perpetrators.

The Easy-To-Use Hub
One of the best parts about Deep Sentinel is that it uses only outdoor-only cameras. Inside the house, there’s nothing to show its presence except for the sleek Deep Sentinel hub. Armed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory, the sleek hub, which can be set up very easily and discreetly, is a charging station for all the batteries of the cameras on the property. In fact, the kit even comes with an extra battery, which we could keep charged, so when one of the other batteries stopped working due to lack of charge, we wouldn’t need to pause the system, and there wouldn’t be any downtime.
If that wasn’t enough, the hub is also the nucleus of all amazing AI action. For instance, our hub could separately identify possible threats and harmless events, such as people jogging on running on the sidewalk. Thus, we didn’t have to worry about our phones blowing up with hundreds of notifications that weren’t harmful, let alone wanting any action. The best bit? The “Deep Sentinel” Guards (more on them later) could also livestream our home footage.

High-Quality Cameras And A Wide Viewing Field
We loved the high-quality of the three security cameras that came with the Deep Sentinel kit. Not only did they have a 1080p HD resolution, but they were also equipped with night vision, 2-way audio, and a wide, 130-degree viewing field. Firstly, the 1080p HD video quality was excellent, even when we viewed it on our smartphones. What’s more, the 130-degree viewing field allowed us to see a lot more area of our property than we usually could, including the sidewalk and blind spots in our front and back yards. Despite not being able to use it much (since we had the Sentinel Guards), the two-way audio system was excellent.
If that wasn’t enough, we were even able to review the history section of the app and all past activities it recorded, only to discover that our Sentinel Guards had quickly intervened and prevented potential delivery thefts on our front porch. Finally, thanks to the 16 infrared sensors, we had no issues viewing anything that resulted in any eerie noise at night. If anything, the strobing red-and-white alarm lights on the camera lenses’ rims worked wonderfully as visual deterrents to any intruders and were also more noticeable when it was dark. Did we mention the very useful, very loud 104-decibel alarm siren? It would make sure that anyone who breached our boundaries would find it extremely challenging and almost impossible to come to our front door unnoticed.

The “Live Sentinel” Guards
Unlike other fellow professional home security systems, Deep Sentinel takes guard duty to the next level. We’re talking about the Live Sentinel guards, who are professionals who monitor our Deep Sentinel systems round the clock. Not only did we know when the Guards were on duty when we were using the app, but we even knew the name of the agent who was on duty. The minute we’s checked the history of our camera feeds, we’d see the names of the Sentinel Guards to our property, along with the times and the dates that they were active. It was this detailing that made our experience much more reassuring, especially since we knew that there were humans who were always looking out for us 24/7.
What’s more, we found that this AI-powered detection, when combined with human verification, was extremely helpful in multiple ways. Firstly, it greatly reduced false alarms, as the system could distinguish between genuine security threats and breaches and routine activities, such as package deliveries. The sentinel guards would take it ahead, as the alerts would reach them only when intervention was required.
Whether it was a stranger standing outside our home in their car with their doors closed or it was an actual robbery attempt, the cameras would be able to detect these fishy behaviors and notify our guards in less than half a minute. In fact, even when strangers have lingered at our front door, the guards have intervened, even when we were at home. We didn’t have to deal with close calls anymore neither did we have to pause our activities, because the guards always had the situation under control.

How much power does the Hub use?
The Deep Sentinel Hub uses 2.5 amps at 12 v approximately. So, it uses around 30 watts (which is close to the equivalent of running ceiling fans on low speeds).
Do I need an Alarm Permit for my Deep Sentinel Security System?
Deep Sentinel isn’t an alarm company, so you might not require permits. However, we always recommend that users comply with local city and county regulations.
Can I control Door Locks or lights with Deep Sentinel?
No. Deep Sentinel isn’t designed to work with lights and door locks. In fact, that’s what Smart Home devices such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home are designed specifically for.
